Barrow showed off his talent and versatility by immediately becoming one of the team’s leading scorers despite only joining in January. On July 2, 2021, Bologna decided to execute their option to buy his rights.

Barrow established himself with the Gambia U23 national team on June 1, 2018, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 friendly win over Morocco U23s.

Later, on September 8, 2018, he made his senior national team debut for the Gambia in a 1-1 tie with Algeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
