Aguerd started his football playing career at Mohammed VI Football Academy, a local academy in Salé.
After playing two years at Mohammed VI Football Academy, Aguerd joined Fath Union Sport popularly known as FUS Rabat, a Moroccan professional football club based in Rabat.

Following his four-year stints with FUS Rabat, he moved to Dijon Football Côte d’Or commonly known as Dijon (2018–2020), and Rennes (2020–2022) before signing a five-year contract for a fee of £30 million with Premier League club West Ham.
