Neville John “Noddy” Holder, a musician and actor from England, was born on June 15, 1946. The English band Slade, one of the most popular bands in the UK in the 1970s, included him as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist.

Merry Christmas Everybody, which was released in 1973, was their biggest success and had the catchy chorus, “So here it is, Merry Christmas, Everybody’s having fun.” After 25 years with Slade, Holder left the company in 1992 to pursue a career in radio and television.

For contributions to show business, the singer received an MBE in 2000. By the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters in 2001, he received the Gold Badge of Merit. In addition to frequently appearing as a guest on television, he had his own radio programs.

In 1976, Noddy wed Leandra Russell, a fashion designer. They got divorced in 1984 and had two children, Jessica and Charisse.
He wed TV producer Suzan Price in 2004. Django, their son, was given the name Django Reinhardt. Noddy Holder is recognized for the recognizable “mirror hat” he used when playing with Slade.
