Norwegian-Swedish ice hockey star Aleksander Prince Fredrik Ramprecht Reichenberg, born on June 13, 1992, tragically passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 31.

His death was confirmed by the Lillehammer Ice Hockey Club through their website.
The statement added: “It is unbelievably sad to think that he will never get to hear the audience’s tactful shouts in Eidsiva Arena and that we who sat in the stands will not get to see the player with the big smile, the extra feint or the hard-hitting shot from the drop circle in the power play.
“Rest in Peace, No. 61. You will always be remembered as an artist. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to family, girlfriend and team-mates.”

Reichenberg’s professional career spanned various leagues and teams. Beginning with his hometown club, Lillehammer IK, in the GET-ligaen, he later played for Storhamar Ishockey and ventured abroad to HC Sparta Praha in the Czech Extraliga.
However, he returned to Lillehammer before joining Färjestad BK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) on loan.
During the 2018–19 season, Reichenberg showcased his prowess with Färjestad BK, contributing significantly to their campaign. Subsequently, he signed with IK Oskarshamn, where he continued to excel in the SHL.
Reichenberg also represented Norway on the international stage, notably participating in the 2017 IIHF World Championship.
As news of Reichenberg’s passing reverberates through the hockey community, tributes pour in from fans, teammates, and colleagues, reflecting on his remarkable career and the joy he brought to the sport.
