The names of her parents are not public knowledge. She grew up in Manhattan’s East Village and went to Friends Seminary in the city’s Gramercy neighbourhood, where she graduated with 57 other students.
She also attended the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts and the Usdan Centre for the Creative and Performing Arts in upstate New York. She studied at the American Globe Theatre as well as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she also completed a stage combat course with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC).
