Joanne Gignilliat Trimmier Woodward was born on February 27, 1930, in Thomasville, Georgia, United States. She is 92 years old as of 2022.

Joanne Woodward is the daughter of Elinor Trimmier and Wade Woodward, Jr. Her father was vice president of the publishing company Charles Scribner’s Sons.

Joanne Woodward majored in drama at Louisiana State University and also studied at the Actors Studio.

In 1990, Joanne Woodward received a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College at age 60. She had an acting career spanning more than six decades.
