American professional baseball pitcher Paul Stanton Sewald, born May 26, 1990, plays for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He had previously played for the New York Mets in the MLB. Sewald represented the San Diego Toreros in collegiate baseball.

Sewald was chosen by the New York Mets in the tenth round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He received a $1,000 signing bonus from them.

Sewald made his professional debut the following year with the Brooklyn Cyclones of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League, where he went 0-2 with a 1.88 ERA in 28.2 relief innings thrown.

He made 35 bullpen appearances with the Savannah Sand Gnats of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2013, posting a 3-2 record and a 1.77 ERA.

Sewald started the 2014 campaign with the Class A-Advanced St. Lucie Mets of the Florida State League before being promoted to the Class AA Eastern League’s Binghamton Mets.
