Pete Crow-Armstrong attended Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, California. He was selected the Los Angeles Times Player of the Year in 2019, his junior year, after hitting.395 with three home runs, 23 RBIs, forty runs, and 47 hits in 34 games, striking out only seven times.

Crow-Armstrong was regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2020 MLB draft. The New York Mets selected him in the first round as the 19th overall pick.
On July 30, 2021, the Mets traded Crow-Armstrong to the Chicago Cubs. He was chosen to play for the Cubs in the 2023 All-Star Futures Game.
Sources reported Crow-Armstrong was called up to the Major League Chicago Cubs from the Triple-A Iowa Cubs on September 11, 2023, after posting a.876 on-base plus slugging in the 2023 Double-A and Triple-A minor league seasons.
