Peter McNab Cause of Death

Peter McNab, a former NHL player and colour analyst for the Colorado Avalanche for over 25 years, died on Sunday, November 6 2022. He was 70.

Peter McNab was diagnosed with cancer last year. While undergoing treatment, he continued to work games.

When the season began in October, McNab was calling games, but as his health deteriorated, he was removed from the broadcasts.

McNab announced in February 2022, that his doctors had told him his cancer was in remission. McNab’s death was announced by the Avalanche and Altitude, the team’s regional sports network.

“(McNab) was a staple in the local hockey community, going back to his years playing at the University of Denver to working nearly 30 years with the Avs,” Sakic said in a statement. “But as good as a hockey man as he was, he will be most remembered for being a friend to so many.”

From 1973 to 1987, McNab was a member of the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, and New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League.

He later worked as a colour commentator for the Colorado Avalanche from their first season in 1995-96 until his death.
