This decision is part of a major rebuilding project designed to revitalize the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the upcoming season.
In a post-season interview with the Asante Kotoko media team, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum announced that his team will not be recruiting players from the lower division.
“We need to do a lot of structural changes in the playing body with respect to signing of some players to augment the squad. This time not players from lower division but players who have seen it in the Premier League,” Ogum said.
Ogum emphasized that the team needs to act swiftly in the transfer market to secure the players necessary to bolster their squad.
“We need to go there as early as possible to make sure that the players that we want we are able to get them as quickly as possible.”
The Porcupine Warriors are eager to make significant improvements despite finishing the season with 49 points, trailing champions Samartex by 12 points.
The departure of a significant number of players underscores the necessity of recruiting fresh talent to enhance the team’s competitiveness.
