Rachel Brosnahan Parents: Meet Earl Brosnahan, Carol Brosnahan

Rachel Brosnahan is an American actress. Rachel Brosnahan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Carol and Earl Brosnahan. Her parents worked in children’s publishing.

Rachel Brosnahan’s mother is British, and her father is Irish-American. Rachel Brosnahan was raised in Highland Park, Illinois, beginning at the age of four.

Rachel Brosnahan has a younger brother and sister. She is the niece of the late fashion designer Kate Spade.

Though she is well-known for portraying a Jewish character on television (Mrs Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel), Brosnahan is not of Jewish descent. Because of the Highland Park community, she says she was “happily immersed” in Jewish culture.

Rachel Brosnahan went to Wayne Thomas Elementary and Northwood Junior High. Throughout junior and senior high school, she participated in musical theatre.

When she was 16, she took a class with Carole Dibo, who is now her manager and the director of Wilmette’s Actors Training Center. In 2012, Brosnahan graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
