Born in Jamaica to Jamaican parents, Sterling moved to London at the age of five. He began his career at Queens Park Rangers before signing for Liverpool in 2010.

He was awarded the Golden Boy award in 2014. In July 2015, following a lengthy dispute over a new contract, he was signed by Manchester City in a transfer potentially worth £49 million, the highest transfer fee ever paid for an English player at the time.

He went on to help Manchester City win back-to-back Premier League titles in the 2017–18 and 2018–19 seasons. In the 2018–19 season, he was named to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and won the PFA Young Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year.

Sterling made his senior debut for England in November 2012. He was chosen in England’s squads for the FIFA World Cup in 2014, 2018 and 2022, and the UEFA European Championship in 2016 and 2020.

The England star’s estimated net worth is 42 million euros. With the promise of more playing time, the winger was no doubt tempted to sign for Chelsea by the compensation they had promised him.

The Citizens had been paying him a whopping £300,000 a week, so it is said that Sterling’s new contract would earn him similar numbers.

Sterling will become Chelsea’s highest-paid player after signing a contract for more than £15.5 million a year.

Previously, it was Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku who allegedly earned £17 million annually before his departure on loan to his former side, Inter, for the 2022-23 season.

Taking this into account, Raheem Sterling would earn about £1.2 million per month or £300,000 a week. That would make it nearly £60,000 a day, or around £7,500 per hour, or £312 per minute.
