Ricardo Antonio Chavira, an accomplished American actor, was born on September 1st, 1971. From 2004 until 2012, he starred as Carlos Solis in the popular ABC television series Desperate Housewives. Additionally, he played Abraham Quintanilla in the Netflix original series Selena: The Series’ released in 2020.

Chavira began his acting career as a guest star on many television shows, such as NYPD Blue, 24, The Division, Joan of Arcadia, and JAG. In 2002, he was cast in a recurring role for the HBO comedy-drama Six Feet Under and a regular part for the unaired Fox sitcom The Grubbs.

He made his big-screen debut as the private José Gregorio Esparza in 2004 Western The Alamo.

When Chavira was chosen to play Carlos Solis, Gabrielle Solis’s husband (played by Eva Longoria), in Desperate Housewives, his career immediately took off. The program was a huge hit, and Chavira’s performance was well-regarded.

He was included in the “50 Most Beautiful” section of People en Espaol’s “50 Most Beautiful” list in 2005, and TV Guide named him one of “TV’s Sexiest Men” the following year. Two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series were shared by Chavira and the ensemble in 2005 and 2006.

Ricardo Antonio Chavira Education

Ricardo Antonio Chavira finished his schooling at the University of the Incarnate Word and Robert E. Lee High School. He earned his degree from UC San Diego in 2000, making him a graduate of that year.

He continued to pursue his love of acting by earning a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the graduate acting school at the University of California, San Diego. He moved to Los Angeles soon after completing his studies. He has been actively involved in the realms of film, television, and theater ever since.
