Rick Stein Parents: Meet Eric Stein, Dorothy Stein

Rick Stein was born to his parents Eric Stein and Dorothy Stein. Rick Stein was born and brought up on a farm.

In 1965, Rick Stein’s father, a retired managing director of The Distillers Company, committed suicide by jumping from a cliff.

Rick Stein was 18 years old at the time. His father killed himself near the family’s holiday home at Trevose Head. He suffered from bipolar disorder.

Rick Stein also has a half-brother, Jeremy, his mother’s son from her first marriage. Rick Stein was brought up alongside three siblings including John Stein, Janey Stein and Henrietta Stein.

Rick Stein is of German descent. Christopher Richard “Rick” Stein, CBE was born on January 4, 1947, in Churchill, United Kingdom.

Along with business partner Jill Stein, he has run the Stein hotel and restaurant business in the UK. Rick Stein is the father of Jack Stein, Edward Stein and Charles Stein.

Rick Stein has written over 25 cookery books, and a memoir and made over 30 programmes including 12 cookery series.
