On June 11, 2018, Puig renewed his contract with Barça until 2021 and was promoted to the B-team in the Segunda División B. He made his first-team debut on 5 December, replacing fellow youth graduate Oriol Busquets in the 55th minute of a 4–1 home routing of Cultural Leonesa, in the season’s Copa del Rey; he also assisted Denis Suárez, who scored Barcelona’s fourth goal.
In August 2022, LA Galaxy signed Puig using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) with Barcelona reserving the right to repurchase and 50% of any future sale.
He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract until the end of the 2025 season. He made his Major League Soccer debut 15 days later in a 3–3 draw at home to Seattle Sounders FC, coming on in the 62nd minute for another former Barcelona youth product, Víctor Vázquez.
