What did Rita O’Hare do?

Was Rita O’Hare arrested? Why was Rita O’Hare arrested? Rita O’Hare was a member of the IRA and was wanted in the North for the attempted murder of an Army warrant officer in 1971. She ran from Ireland but was later arrested and served 3 years in jail for trying to smuggle explosives into Limerick prison while on a visit. She was refused extradition. She was not extradited as all attempts failed. The High Court in Dublin ruled in 1978 that they could not extradite her because her offences were heavily political.
