The team’s doctor, Jacek Jaroszewski, mentioned they’re making every effort to ensure the Barcelona forward will be ready to play against Austria in their second Group D game on June 21.
The 35-year-old attacker was substituted with an injury during the first half of the 2-1 win against Turkey as he marked his 150th appearance for Poland.

He underwent examinations at the team’s training facility on Tuesday, which revealed a thigh issue that will sideline him for Sunday’s opener against the Netherlands in Hamburg, Germany.
Nevertheless, coach Michał Probierz has decided to keep Lewandowski with the squad, hoping that he will be able to participate in some capacity during the tournament.
Following the match against the Netherlands, Poland will face Austria in Berlin and then conclude Group D by facing World Cup runners-up France in Dortmund on June 25th.
