Marissa Andaya was the wife of late Filipino lawyer and politician who served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, Rolando Aureo “Nonoy” Gutierrez Andaya Jr.

He represented the 1st district of Camarines Sur from 1998 to 2006 and again from 2010 to 2019.
He was a House Deputy Speaker from 2016 to 2018 in the 17th Congress.
He then served as the House Majority Leader from 2018 to 2019.

He was also the Secretary of Budget and Management from 2006 to 2010 in President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s cabinet.
Prior to becoming a congressman, Marissa’s husband worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission from 1996 to 1998.

Rolando also faced two assassination attempts; the first one happening on October 16, 2018 and the second, on June 1, 2021.
Sadly, he was found dead on June 30, 2022, in his residence in Naga, five days short of his wife’s second death anniversary.

Marissa and Rolando Andaya Jr were married until her death on July 5, 2020, from cancer.
They couple share two children; Rolando “Ranton” Andaya IV and Katrina Andaya.
