Ronald Powell, a native of Moreno Valley, California, was a standout athlete from his early years. He attended Rancho Verde High School, where he showcased his versatility by playing positions like defensive end, linebacker, and tight end.

His exceptional skills earned him a spot in the prestigious 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, where he not only represented his high school but was also voted as the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Regarded as a five-star college recruit by Rivals.com, Powell’s talent and prowess on the field made him the No. 1 prospect, regardless of position, in the class of 2010. This accolade foreshadowed the impactful football career that Powell would go on to have, leaving an indelible mark on the sport he loved.

Opting to forego his remaining college eligibility, Powell entered the professional football realm when the New Orleans Saints selected him in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the 169th pick.

His rookie season with the Saints in 2014 saw him play in 14 games, showcasing his skills on the grand stage. Despite facing challenges, including being waived ahead of the 2015 season, Powell’s resilience and determination saw him rejoin the Saints later and spend time on injured reserve.
