Boey was born in France and is a dual citizen of France and Cameroon. He competed for France in youth international matches for the under-17, under-18, and under-20 age divisions.

Boey was chosen for the Cameroon team’s preliminary squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, however, he was left off of the final roster.
Boey was initially named to the squad for Cameroon’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Algeria in March 2022, but he was again left out of the final roster.
