Baker is best known for portraying the villain Sauron in the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson.

He was born in Wellington, New Zealand, on September 22, 1976. He began his career as a stunt performer in the early 2000s, working on films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005) and King Kong (2005).

In 2001, Baker was hired as one of several stunt performers for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. However, he was soon asked to audition for the role of Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor. Baker’s imposing height and physicality made him a perfect fit for the role, and he ultimately landed the part.

Baker appeared in all three Lord of the Rings films, and his performance as Sauron was widely praised. He also played several other roles in the trilogy, including an Orc, a Gondorian soldier, and a Rohirrim rider.

Since The Lord of the Rings, Baker has continued to work as a stunt performer and actor. He has appeared in films such as Deadpool 2 (2018), Braven (2018), and Mile 22 (2018).

He has also had roles in television shows such as Spartacus: War of the Damned (2010) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017).
