Salvador Ramos, a fast-food worker who was teased for his lisp and eyeliner, carried out the killing at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, around 11.30 a.m. Tuesday, after shooting his grandmother at a house elsewhere in the city, purportedly over a disagreement about failing to graduate.

Ramos, who had bought a pair of firearms for his 18th birthday and flaunted them on social media, allegedly fled the site of the first shooting in a car armed with a handgun, ‘maybe’ a rifle, and wearing body armour, according to police and officials.

He parked his car near the school, went inside, and “began killing children, teachers, and anybody else who got in his path.” Investigators are currently attempting to trace Ramos’ relatives.
