Sam Gannon was a musician and actor best known for his role as Kev on Emmerdale.

Sam passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at the age of 31. He was visiting family in California at the time of his death, according to his sister Amy Kelly.
Mr Gannon’s death is still being investigated, but his mother said he had a heart condition since birth that had “reared its ugly head” in recent months

Sam got his big break on television in 2019 when he was cast as a horse-drawn carriage coachman in the ITV soap Emmerdale. He also co-starred in the short film Talking with Angels with actor John Thomson.

Sam has also worked with several regional theatre companies, including Gobbledigook Theatre and The Northumberland Theatre Company.
His family and friends have set up a JustGiving page to raise the £17,000 needed to repatriate his body from the United States.
Tributes for the actor poured in via the JustGiving page, with Olwen May writing: He was such a talented young actor and brought great joy to friends, and audiences alike. This is a true, sad loss. My thoughts are with his family. So sorry.’
