Kim released the first part of his debut EP, My Name is Sam, on March 28, 2016. It contained three tracks including the pre-release single, “Mama Don’t Worry”. His full-length EP, I am Sam, was released on April 10.

The music video for the single, Make Up was released on October 23, 2018, ahead of Kim’s second lead single to feature Crush.
The full album was released on November 22, 2018, along with a music video for the second single, “Its You”, featuring Zico.
