A new Supergirl has arrived in town. Sasha Calle, who starred on “The Young and the Restless,” has been cast in the role of the DC Comics hero and will make her acting debut in the upcoming film “The Flash.”

On Instagram, director Andy Muschietti announced the news. Calle receives the news that she has been cast on camera during an emotional video. She continues, crying, “Little me would be like, ‘No way. I’m probably going to cry nonstop all day.
Before choosing Calle, the first Latina to ever play Supergirl, Muschietti reportedly interviewed more than 400 women.
