According to L’Orient-Le Jour and the National News Agency (Ani, official), the former Lebanese Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi passed away on Thursday at the age of 71 following a protracted illness.

Sejaan Azzi, the minister of labor, was born in Ouqayba-Ftouh, Keserwan, in 1952. He has twin daughters and is married to Dania Haleem Baroud.
He joined the Kataeb Party at a young age and has served as the organization’s vice leader since 2010, and studied business and political science at Saint Joseph University.

Additionally, he served as a journalist for several newspapers and journals and, in 1975, served as the chief of the news department at Voice of Lebanon Radio. Then, in 1978, he founded Radio Free Lebanon and ran it until 1986.
He again published MIB in Paris, and in 1986 the company SOGETCO was founded there as well.
