Shannen Doherty is an American actress, producer, and television director. She was in Memphis, Tennessee to Rosa Elizabeth Doherty and John Thomas Doherty Jr.

When Shannen was born, her father worked for a bank in Memphis, Tennessee. When Shannen was seven years old, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother Rosa and four-year-old brother Sean, where John started a transportation business.
Shannen Doherty’s father passed away in 2010 at age 66. Doherty had said her father was the inspirational force behind her decision to join the Dancing With The Stars team last year – after he had suffered a devastating stroke on Christmas Day the year before.

Doherty rose to fame in the 1990s for her roles in popular television series. One of her most iconic roles was as Brenda Walsh in the hit teen drama series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” which aired from 1990 to 1994.
Throughout her career, Doherty has appeared in numerous films and television shows. Some of her notable film credits include “Heathers” (1988), “Mallrats” (1995), and “Striking Poses” (1999). She has also made guest appearances on various TV shows such as “The Secret of Lost Creek,” “North Shore,” and “90210” (the 2008 reboot of the original series).
