Shawn was introduced to gymnastics at the age of 3. Her parents took her to Gymnastic school at the age of 6 where Liang-chow was her first tutor. Shawn further went to Valley High School to start her education and was fond of Nutritioamiliar with football and Dances.

Shawn and her mother moved to Los Angeles and she leaves that public school and had to complete her education with a private tutor.
