Lester Louis Adler was born in the United States on December 13, 1933. The Grass Roots, Jan & Dean, The Mamas & the Papas, and Carole King are just a few of the well-known musical artists he is responsible for developing and marketing.
He is a co-owner of the West Hollywood, California-based Roxy Theatre. One of the best pop albums ever made and winner of the Album of the Year award in 1972 was Carole King’s Tapestry, which was produced by him as part of his involvement in the music industry.

Adler worked as the executive producer of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in addition to producing comedy CDs and films for Cheech & Chong.
He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 for his exceptional musical accomplishments. He was later included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 as a co-winner of the Ahmet Ertegun Award alongside Quincy Jones.
Adler’s career in music began when he and Herb Alpert co-managed Jan & Dean. They soon began writing songs, producing hits for artists like Bob “Froggy” Landers and The Cough Drops in 1958 with “River Rock” and Sam Cooke in “Wonderful World.”
