Francis Ford Coppola and Eleanor Coppola are the parents of American filmmaker and actress Sofia Coppola.

Sofia’s father Francis Ford Coppola is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter who is considered one of the major figures of the New Hollywood filmmaking movement.

As a director, Ford Coppola is known for directing The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Megalopolis, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Outsiders, The Godfather Part III, The Godfather Part II, The Conversation, Rumble Fish, The Rainmaker, and others.

Whereas Sofia’s mother Eleanor Coppola is an American documentary filmmaker, artist, and writer.

She is most known for her 1991 documentary film Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse as well as other documentaries chronicling the films of her husband and children.

Francis Ford Coppola and his wife Eleanor married in 1963.

The couple has been blessed with three children, Gian-Carlo Coppola, Roman Coppola, and Sofia Coppola, all of whom became filmmakers.
