State Rep. Quentin Williams, a Connecticut state lawmaker who was killed in a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles.

The Connecticut state lawmaker was one of the two drivers killed in the fiery two-car crash which occured at 12:48 a.m. Thursday on Route 9 in Cromwell.

According to State Police, Williams’ car was traveling in the left lane on the southbound side of Route 9 near exit 18 when a vehicle going north struck his car head on, leading to Williams’ car bursting into flames.

Unfortunately, there is no information on the late State Rep’s parents.

His mother is alive. However, her name is not known.

There has been no mention of his father.

Who Was State Rep. Quentin Williams?

Quentin Williams was the first African American to represent the City of Middletown in the Connecticut General Assembly.

Prior to that, he served as city treasurer in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015.

He was also part of the planning and zoning commission in 2007, and in 2009, he was unanimously elected chair of the commission.

Williams also served as Executive Director of the Middletown Downtown Business District, where he launched the Middletown Restaurant Week.

Williams is considered a “champion for social and racial equality, human rights, accessible housing for all and supporting youth programs to help prepare them for successful futures.”
