His father owns a solvents company, and a petrol station, and raced Formula Ford cars from the 1960s until a major accident at Oulton Park in 1975 ended his career. Wilson’s older brother, Justin was also a racing driver.
Stefan Wilson’s career in racing began at a young age, as he started karting at the age of eight. One of Stefan’s notable achievements came in 2007 when he secured the championship title in the Formula Palmer Audi series. His dream became a reality in 2016 when he made his debut in the legendary race. Driving for KV Racing Technology, Stefan was impressed with his performance and finished in the 28th position. Wilson finished in last place at the 2021 Indianapolis 500 due to a crash upon entering the pit lane early in the race.
