Steven Knight is an English screenwriter and director best known for writing screenplays for the movies Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises.
Born on August 5, 1959, Knight is one of the creators of the global TV game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, as well as the writer of BBC’s Commercial Breakdown, The Detectives, Peaky Blinders, Comedy Playhouse, Frankie’s On…, Auntie’s Big Bloomers, See and Taboo.

Knight is the brain behind the TV series Peaky Blinders and Canned Carrott.
He also contributed to the film A Christmas Carol. Knight has directed a number of movies including Hummingbird (2013), Locke (2014), and Serenity (2019).
