Tiki Barber, an American retired professional football player, was a running back for the National Football League’s (NFL) New York Giants for ten seasons.

He was born on April 7, 1975. He represented the University of Virginia in collegiate football. Barber spent his entire professional career with the Giants after being selected by them in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft. At the conclusion of the 2006 NFL postseason, Barber announced his retirement from the league as the Giants’ all-time leading rusher and receiver. 2011 saw the induction of Barber into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

After finishing his playing career, Barber entered the national media scene, most notably as a correspondent for Sunday Night Football and Football Night in America on NBC’s The Today Show in 2007.
