Rebecca Klips a former Two Rivers teacher accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a student appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday, May 25.

The Two Rivers Police Department received information that 34-year-old Rebecca Kilps was engaged in sexual conduct with a 17-year-old student, according to a release.
Officers arrested the teacher for three counts of Sexual Assault of a Child by a School Instructional Staff Person, a Class H Felony, after conducting an investigation.
The Two Rivers School District has been cooperative throughout the inquiry, and no further victims are suspected.

Rebecca Kilps, 34, was detained on a $10,000 cash bond by a court commissioner. She will return to court on Tuesday, May 31 2022 for her first appearance.
Assistant District Attorney Anthony Lambrecht testified in court on Wednesday that Kilps knew the contact was illegal and had been going on for two years
