A retired miner and a housewife gave birth to Zhang Weili on August 13, 1989, in Handa, Hebei, China. Zhang Weili is a well-known Chinese mixed martial artist. Alongside her older brother, Zhang grew up.

Zhang participated in sports like football, track and field, and table tennis while she was a student at a primary school. She was then sent to a distinctive martial arts academy in Handa.

She worked a variety of low-paying jobs before becoming famous, including as a kindergarten teacher, a grocery cashier, a hotel desk clerk, and a security guard. She also worked as a fitness instructor in a neighborhood gym in Beijing.

After becoming acquainted, Haotian introduced Zhang to the Black Tiger Fight Club in 2012. Coach Cai Xuejun started training her after recognizing her ability.
