Montell kicked the bucket on March in Southern California Healing Center at Van Nuys of heart issues and sepsis, her girl, Shireen Janti, told The Hollywood Reporter.

In 1964, she talked at a Baháʼí youth conference in Pasadena as well as another conversation at a Baháʼí occasion on race solidarity in Westwood.
