Broadcasting Career: Jarrett Payton has transitioned seamlessly from the football field to the world of broadcasting. He is currently a fill-in sports anchor for WGN’s Morning Show and serves as the co-host of WGN Radio’s The Beat program. His experience in radio extends back to his time as a co-host on the “Jarrett, Harry, and Spike” radio show on Chicago’s former radio station, The Game 87.7FM.

Entrepreneurship: Beyond broadcasting, Jarrett Payton has ventured into the world of craft beer. He’s a partner in Chicago-based Argus Brewery, where he actively participates in the production, promotion, and sales of his own beer: Jarrett Payton’s All-American Wheat Ale. Inspired by his father’s appreciation for craft beer, Jarrett’s beer has become the second-best selling item at Argus Brewery. This venture allows him to honor his father’s dream and strengthen the father-son bond that he shares with the brewery’s owners.

Philanthropy: Jarrett Payton’s commitment to his community and his desire to continue his father’s legacy of making a positive impact are evident in his philanthropic efforts. Alongside his wife Trisha, he co-founded The Jarrett Payton Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to creating programs that provide children and adolescents with opportunities to develop leadership skills and enrich their lives. Additionally, Jarrett dedicates his time to The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation, which supports those less fortunate in finding stability and positive life opportunities.

The designs are unique and limited, with each piece individually numbered and produced only 34 times, representing the number his late father, Walter Payton, wore and which was ultimately retired by the Chicago Bears. Some of the pieces also incorporate the number 34, and a portion of the proceeds benefits The Jarrett Payton Foundation.

Athletic Journey: Jarrett Payton’s own athletic journey began at an early age. He excelled in high school soccer and football, earning All-State honors in soccer during his first two years. Despite being initially known for soccer, he transitioned to football, becoming a standout quarterback, tailback, and wide receiver in high school. This led to recruitment by major universities, and he ultimately played for the University of Miami, appearing in five major bowl games and earning the title of Most Valuable Player in the 2014 Orange Bowl. After college, he played in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and in NFL Europe for the Amsterdam Admirals, winning the 2005 World Bowl championship. He later played in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts, and with the Chicago Slaughter of the Indoor Football League.

Public Speaking: Jarrett Payton’s passion for public speaking traces back to his introductory speech for his father’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 1993. Since then, he has been sought after to inspire and motivate audiences across all age levels, particularly in the business community.

Jarrett Payton continues to be an active participant in social media, engaging with friends and fans on platforms like Twitter (@paytonsun) and Facebook.
