She holds the record for the most assists ever given by a USWNT player before turning 20. In January 2016, at the age of 17, she became the youngest player in USWNT history to be chosen and compete in an Olympic qualification tournament.

Swanson revealed on April 17, 2017, that after one-quarter of her collegiate career with UCLA, she would leave and pursue a career in acting. She subsequently signed with the Washington Spirit in May 2017 and played there for three seasons before moving on to Sky Blue FC and the Chicago Red Stars, where she is presently playing.

What is Mallory Swanson’s injury? Is Mallory Swanson hurt?

U.S. Soccer reported that during the first half of the United States women’s national team’s 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland, Mallory Swanson tore the patella tendon in her left knee. Swanson has already returned to Chicago for more testing.

Swanson’s injury in Saturday’s victory is a terrible blow for both her and the club, but there is yet no estimated time for her comeback. Swanson, who scored seven goals in five games leading up to the match on Saturday, has been the USWNT’s top player in 2023.

She was tied for the fourth-longest scoring streak in USWNT history with a six-game run, which she had been on.
