Hoppus recalled the strain in his relationship with DeLonge, stating, “It felt unlikely for Blink to reunite, and I had expressed my reluctance to everyone about sharing a stage with Tom again.”

But life took a turn when Hoppus revealed, “Out of the blue, as I was grappling with my illness, Tom reached out. Upon learning about my Lymphoma, his demeanor changed. He became a pillar of support, checking in daily, and constantly reminding me of my strength, something I hadn’t experienced much of until then.”
Hoppus emphasized the therapeutic process of reuniting and creating music with DeLonge after nearly a decade. “Post-diagnosis, the aftermath of chemo left me feeling drained, both physically and emotionally. My vocals were particularly affected, prompting me to seek professional assistance. All these efforts culminated in our performance at Coachella, marking a significant milestone in our career.”
Hoppus added with pride, “With this album, which I believe ranks among our best, the essence of our journey and healing resonates. When we started, our sole aim was for Blink-182’s revival to be genuine and enjoyable.”
