Castle primarily competed on the ATP Challenger Tour and made appearances in the main draw of Grand Slam tournaments but did not reach the level of winning a major title.

Castle was Great Britain’s number one singles tennis player in 1986, rising as high as World No. 80 in June 1988, and No. 45 in doubles with Tim Wilkison of the United States in December 1988.

Castle reached a Grand Slam final with Anne Hobbs in the 1987 Australian Open mixed doubles event. He won three ATP titles in men’s doubles and one Challenger tour title. He received $344,338 in prize money (the equivalent of £196,195 in 1992).

Since he retired from tennis, Andre Castle has been working as a broadcaster. Castle was a presenter on the now-defunct ITV breakfast show GMTV between 2000 and 2010, sharing duties with Ben Shephard to present its weekday magazine series. He began anchoring the ITV daytime game show Divided in 2009. Castle began presenting on LBC in 2013. In addition, he has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and 71 Degrees North.
