After police searched his car during a traffic check, former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Plano police.
Irvin, an ESPN commentator and Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate, was stopped for speeding in Plano on Friday afternoon and was later arrested in Irving on a warrant for the same offense, according to the Plano Police Department. According to police spokesman Mike Johnson, the type of paraphernalia discovered is unknown.

When he was detained in 1996 on suspicion of cocaine possession, his issues with cocaine and alcohol consumption became public.
