On June 9, 2023, McLaughlin-Levrone made her professional debut in the 400 meters, finishing second with a time of 49.71 seconds at the Diamond League meet in Paris.
Later that month, she clocked 49.51 seconds at the USATF New York Grand Prix.
On July 8, 2023, she set a world-leading time of 48.74 seconds at the USATF Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the 2023 World Athletics Championships due to a knee injury.
