Who influenced Jack Black?
Black says he grew up listening to Van Halen, but also enjoyed the vocal scat stylings of Bobby McFerrin, who became famous for his ability to sing various voices and instrumentations.
Jack Black’s older brother Howard was a huge inspiration for him, introducing him to rock music when he was young. Tragically, Howard passed away from HIV/AIDS when he was just 31 years old.

The role of Dewey Finn was written for Black and earned him a Golden Globe nomination, and of all the films he’s been a part of, School of Rock seems to be his favorite.
