Jacob Pechenik is a film producer and the ex-husband of Zooey Deschanel an American actress, singer, and songwriter.

Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik first met on the set of Bill Murray’s film Rock the Kasbah. They announced their engagement in January 2015 and married in June of that year.

They have two children: a daughter born in July 2015, and a son born in May 2017. They divorced on January 8, 2019, after three and a half years of marriage.

Jacob Pechenik filed for divorce nine months later, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Pechenik, a producer, requested joint legal and physical custody of their children in the divorce filing.

Although Deschanel and Pechenik split in 2019, the former couple remains on good terms as they continue to co-parent their two children together.

Jacob Pechenik is predominantly active in the independent scene. He has produced numerous films including The Skeleton Twins. He was the executive producer of Song One, which starred Anne Hathaway.
