Mike Colter is an American actor who is well known for his role as Luke Cage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in the streaming television series Luke Cage, The Defenders, and Jessica Jones.
Born August 26, 1976, in Columbia, South Carolina, United States, Colter attended Calhoun County High School.
After high school, he enrolled at Benedict College for one year before transferring to the University of South Carolina where he completed in 1999.

Colter earned an MFA degree in acting from the Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts.
He made his first screen appearance in the 2002 American medical drama television series ER.

Colter has played in more than 40 movies and TV shows.
