Bill Fitch was married to JoAnne Nelson-Fitch, however, she was only his second wife. At this time, there is no information regarding his first wife.
Fitch first met JoAnne or Joni in 1979 while working as a flight attendant for United Airlines. After she died of ovarian cancer at the age of 65, he reflected on their first meeting.
They did, however, have a brief conversation. Then, a few months later, he ran into her in a restaurant. They went on a few dates before becoming a pair.
Fitch stated that it was a year after his divorce.
