Who was Marc Gilpin? Former American Child Actor Dead at 56

Marc Gilpin was an American child actor who made his first national commercial, a spot for Exxon, when he was just 4 years old. He also appeared on  a 1977 episode of the Saturday morning NBC series Thunder.

He was also hired as Sean Brody in the 1978 sequel to the blockbuster Jaws in 1975, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. He was just 11 years old when the movie hit the theatres.

Gilpin died after a long battle with glioblastoma on July 29, 2023. He was 56 years old at the time of death. He was known for several movies and TV shows. Some of them include Where’s Willie? License to Kill, The Shark is Still Working, The Legend of the Lone, She’s Out of Control, Surviving: A Family in Crisis, Right to Kill? and more.

He survived by his wife of 24 years; Kaki Gilpin and his two sons;  Presley Gilpin and Spencer Gilpin who are all teenagers.
