Who was Sergio Calderón? ‘Men In Black’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Actor Dead at 77

Famous actor, Sergio Calderón was also known by many fans of Men In Black (1997) as the ‘head on a stick’ held by an extraterrestrial ‘illegal alien’ attempting to sneak across the U.S.-Mexico border. He also appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End as the Spanish pirate lord Capt. Villanueva.

He has been reported dead. According to his family, he died on Wednesday, May 31, 2o23, in a Los Angeles hospital of natural causes. He was 77 years old.

He also played the role of a revolutionary at the turn of the 20th century in Duck, You Sucker! (1971). He starred as the murderous Mexican chief of police in Under the Volcano in 1984 by John Huston.

Some of the movies and tv shows he appeared in during the early stage of his career include The In-Laws, The A-Team, and more.

He studied at the Instituto Andres Soler of the Associacion Nacional de Actores. He then made his onscreen debut in The Bridge in the Jungle in 1970.
