Daniel Humm is a Swiss chef and restaurant owner best known as the chef/owner of Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad and Davies and Brook.

Daniel Humm was born in 1976, in Strengelbach, Switzerland. He started working in kitchens at the age of 14 and had earned his first Michelin star at the age of 24 after spending time in some fine Swiss hotels and restaurants.
Daniel Humm moved to the United States to become the executive chef at Campton Place in San Francisco in 2003. There he received four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle and later moved to New York, becoming the executive chef at Eleven Madison Park.
Daniel Humm purchased Eleven Madison Park in 2011 alongside Will Guidara, from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. In 2017, Eleven Madison Park became number 1 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Daniel Humm is the owner of the Make It Nice group, co-founder of the New York City-based nonprofit group, Rethink Food, as well as the author of four books including Eleven Madison Park: The Cookbook, I Love New York: Ingredients and Recipes, The NoMad Cookbook and Eleven Madison Park: The Next Chapter.
Daniel Humm and Eleven Madison Park have been recipients of several accolades, including four stars from The New York Times, six James Beard Foundation Awards (including Outstanding Chef and Outstanding Restaurant in America), three stars from the Michelin Guide, and the #1 spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
Why did Will Guidara and Daniel Humm split?
According to Daniel, he and Will Guidara made the decision to go their separate ways because their visions around how they wanted to run the restaurants are no longer aligned.
